Glasgow Diaries Part III: Friendships Blossom

March 2018: The first month of Beecee's Glasgow experience was filled with trying to get into a proper routine for her masters classes, everything seemed to be going well, the professors and her classmates were great. Her roommates were friendly and quickly became family. Momo, a girl from Somalia , who lived in Bahrain and Zee, a Pakistani girl from Saudi Arabia, in particular were the first ever girls that Beecee felt at home with. Dinner time became a ritual with the three of them, it was when they shared their family stories, their studying abroad stories and their Glasgow experience so far. Every night consisted of watching the people go by in the big windows that surrounded the kitchen and living area, cry laughing until their stomachs hurt and sharing their most vulnerable stories with each other. It was a time where Beecee truly felt happy and content with her life.

Student life was great, Beecee really enjoyed living on her own, finally having the independence that she craved for. It didn't take much time for her to get into routine. She would get her class assignments done and spend more and more time with Momo and Zee exploring Glasgow's city centre and getting familar with what to buy at the grocery stores.

Beecee became quite social at this point getting to know more and more people that lived in her student accommodation. She joined a friend group that was out of her comfort zone initially, but they were very much fun, a different kind of fun from Momo and Zee. This new group of friends Beecee dubbed as the "India Crew". They consisted of a fairly large group of students that were from India who were studying abroad in Glasgow. These were the party people, the people that she went out with, the people that shared their crazy Indian school experiences, the hilarious people that were also so friendly to anyone they met. This was Beecee's first exposure to what "being friends forever meant".

As an outsider looking in, Beecee was incredibly fascinated by the unbreakable bond that the "India Crew" had. She wanted that, she wanted that unbreakable bond of friendship that she never shared with anyone. Naturally it happened very quickly with Momo, Zee and later Sasha. The endless nights spent together with Momo and Zee created a bond that Beecee would forever be thankful for and it was the "India Crew" that made her realize that friends make everything better. There are many ways to achieve happiness and one of the forms of happiness is through friendships.
